Best Sandwich Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup honey or pure maple syrup
1 1/2 Tbsp. Dry active yeast
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp. Fine grain Himalayan pink salt
4 to 5 cups bread flour + more
Directions:

Place your stand mixing bowl in your oven with the light on to warm the bowl.

Heat your 1 cup milk and 1 cup water on the stove or in the microwave until it’s between 105-115°F. Don’t go too hot or it could prevent your yeast from working.

Add heated milk/water to the mixing bowl. Add the maple syrup or honey and the yeast. Mix and let sit 5-6 minutes until the yeast gets foamy.

Add the butter, salt, and 1 cup flour. Beginning mixing with the dough hook, and slowly add 1 cup flour at a time until you’ve reached 4 cups. Slowly add flour until it no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl, and isn’t sticky to the touch. Do not add too much flour or it will be dry!

Knead with the dough hook for 7-8 minutes. Place dough ball in a large greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled in size, about an hour. I place mine in the oven with the light on.

Punch down and turn dough out to a clean surface. cut in half, roll into a loaf shape and place in greased bread pans. Let them rise again until doubled in size and rises above the pan, 1 hour.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter. Remove from the pan and let cool before cutting. Makes 2 loaves.

You can freeze one loaf until the first is used up! 2 loaves usually get us through the week.
